The Noisettes

Last night, I was invited along to an Amstel Light event at Opera. Two things:
uno) Usually I hate Opera. Young cheese.
dos) Y'all know I'm not ordinarily a fan of live music concerts/shows.
The Noisettes are chipping away at both of these.
Maybe I'm going to Opera when it's packed or the crowd is bad or I'm in a bad mood, I don't know, but last night I noticed the renovations since eleven50. They're beautiful. I mean, I didn't exactly love what you'd have to call the "Asian Stripper" room. Seriously. I thought I'd gone to Asian night at the Cheetah. Guys can be gross, BUT the interior and the exterior as a whole are really nicely done.
It's really difficult to describe The Noisette's sound - but it is amazing. It's rock, it's 50's dance, it's pop, it's soul. It's AMAZING! I went hunting for them on iTunes this morning and while it's still a great sound, it just doesn't compare to seeing them perform live. The lead singer is such a show girl - it contributes to the power of the sound. She kind of reminded me of what Prince was doing in the 80s. Check them out!
