So I get that Gossip Girl has had a significant impact on American fashion. Prep school chic is in - but its not appropriate for everyone. It's very age specific. There are ways to tone it down for those in their late 20s, early 30s, but for the most part, it doesn't scream maturity and should be worn by those college age and younger.
While I was in Chicago this past weekend, Jae Yong and I drove past an example of the GG effect - the Rugby Ralph Lauren store. Why would Ralph Lauren spend time and money on a line for such an ultra specific group of people? I assume the majority of consumers who can wear full Rugby RL outfits can't actually afford it and those that can afford it, probably shouldn't wear full Rugby RL outfits.
I also just read that Harvard (the University) has launched a new menswear line. The style is very similar to Ruby RL as well as Andre Benjamin's 1 year old line, Benjamin Bixby.
There really isn't a point to this posting other than to say this style is boring and overpriced so if I see you wearing Rugby RL, Harvard Yard or Benjamin Bixby, I will laugh at you.
