Kelly Clarkson is on the cover of Self's September "Total Body Confidence Issue". She's also been airbrushed. A lot. As in not her body at all. This morning the editor, Lucy Danziger, went on air to address the furor arising from thePhotoShop job. I mean, anyone appearing in a magazine these days is photoshopped - all to different extents. What is acceptable for a fashion magazine vs. a women's fitness magazine vs. a parenting magazine?
If I were a Self subscriber - I'd cancel. I would. It just seems extremely hypocritcal of a women's fitness magazine to very obviously PhotoShop a woman on the cover of their "Total Body Confidence" issue.
As a side note, I subscribe to Shape magazine who's policy it is not to airbrush any of their cover model's figures. They adjust for lighting, but DO NOT adjust body parts.
