focus on the dopeness, not the wackness

before i get into the weekend recap, i just wanted to say...
I HEART MY NEW OFFICE!!!
we used to be in a cute "loft" space behind the silver skillet (right where the 14th street bridge dumped you into west midtown), but now we are in the millineum (ok, i wasted about 5 minutes trying to spell that right, meh) building on 10th and W. P'tree. it is fantastic. looooooooooove it.

so friday, i was supposed to hang out with someone but they flaked on me and instead of calling me to tell me they were going to flake on me, i got no call at all. that was really sweet. so when C called me to hang out, i told her to give me 10 minutes. we ordered thai (duck curry baby) and watched the kite runner, which i'd seen before with Ch, but its such a great story, that i wanted to see it again. since i had to get up early the next morning to head up to athens, it wasn't a late night, but i did sleep well.

saturday i got up at 9 and headed up to athens to go hiking on cook's trail with E. i hadn't seen E since high school graduation and it was great to catch up and fit in a workout. i will say that it probably wasn't one of my more brilliant ideas to workout in the middle of the day in the august heat, but it was nice to hang out. i also didn't realize athens was so far away, though on the way there, i swear i took a wrong turn somewhere, so what should have taken me 1.5 to get to E's house took me 2. Ew - and you know how much i love being in the car.

sunday i slept in. so tired from the heat and not eating properly and walking 8 milles, that i figured i deserved a good sleep-in. i got up around noon and had humble pie with C, R and D - that was a nice treat. then, i went over to borders to find a self-help book that i've been meaning to buy for ages and couldn't find it. so around 2 i went to look at houses with my realtor, J. I revisited one in East Atlanta I really liked (Brownwood Avenue) and another i fell in love with around the same area on Van Vleck. this week i'm going to have several friends look at it and probably do some drop-ins of the area to check it out at different times. afterwards, i picked Ch up to go watch the Wackness.

the soundtrack to this movie is phenomenal, but further than that its a great movie - definitely perfect for the mood i've been in lately. i highly recommend it. afterwards we stuffed ourselves with Roasters and walked it off at target.

goodtimes.
