If Time Machines Were Real

I'd be snorting coke and up in the disco! YAYAAAAAAAAAAA! I mean...what?

Tango Time

Since I don't know if going to Greece now would screw me (given the current economic situation) or benefit me (given the economic situation - it could really go either way), I decided to go to Buenos Aires, Argentina instead.

It took me an entire evening of messing around on the internet to decide on Argentina. Then I found The Cocker's website: http://www.thecocker.com/

I will be participating in The Cocker's tango program from September 25 - 30. I am super excited about this! WEEE!!!http://www.thecocker.com/paragon-tango.htm

Flights have been booked!

Oprah Made Me Do It

Actually, she didn't, but she endorsed it and I bought into the hype.

I am done running. At least this week. I think I've come to terms with the fact that I'm never going to be a fast runner. Not a marathoner, not a half marathoner, not even a 10 miler or a 10k. I hate running. (I am really hoping Jae Yong doesn't see this as I am supposed to run the Chicago Marathon in October with her. I mean. I'm still going to do it, but I am so not into the idea at the moment).

Anyway.

In trying to find alternative ways of exercising, I stumbled across the Reebok Easy Tone ReInspire.
To quote Reebok:

WHAT IS EASYTONE?
Our proprietary toning technology is based on the benefits of Instability Training that have been proven over time to tone your muscles.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Reebok uses unique balance pods with moving air built into the shoe that provide natural instability with every step, which forces your muscles to adapt and work harder.
OUR TESTING
We have wear-tested EasyTone with hundreds of people over the past two years resulting in more than 20,000 hours of data.

Feedback from this research shows that users notice the difference immediately and genuinely feel that the shoes work and that their muscles are working harder.
TONING
Lab results show improvements in muscle tone when tested in the lab and great reviews from women around the world who have worn them!

Compared to a typical foam based walking shoe, EasyTone footwear with balance ball inspired technology generated 28% more gluteus maximus muscle activation, 11% more hamstring activation, and 11% more calf activation.

AND I while doing my research I found that Oprah endorsed it. Sold.
I am wearing them today to break them in. I am wearing them tomorrow to Draft on Taft where I'll be on my feet all day.

I am going to have an amazing ass.

Jean Jacket

One of my older male coworkers (late 30s) just passed me wearing a jean jacket.
I have owned jean jackets in the past. They always seemed like a good idea at the time. To be fair, the style does come back every several years. This is not the year.

Like I said, I used to own jean jackets (plural) in the past, but I've given them all away to Goodwill or Salvation Army. I don't tend to hold on to things more than a few years. I figure if its in my closet and I don't want to wear it or I haven't worn it in the current season or the past season, I am not going to wear it again, so I get rid of it.

Honestly, I don't really know what it is about the jean jacket that I don't like. I mean... I like jeans. I think I'm just used to denim being on the lower half of your body, and not just any denim, good denim. The kind that usually costs a fortune.

Okay, fine. I think it looks ridiculous. Anyway. Happy Friday.

SUMMER JAM

The Shower Saga

Okay, so here's the backstory on my shower.

My shower is lovely. It's all beige tile. Some time after I moved in, I went to a homeowners meeting and was informed that most everyone's shower was going to be updated with granite because of some issue with the tile (I am still not clear what the issue was). Anyway, the developer of my condo made all of us sign some form that said they were allowed to come in and fix our showers/update the shower with granite and that it would take approximately 7 days. I was fine with that. From what I was told it was supposed to be a nicer shower, so the number of days it took was what it was.

I fully expected my shower to be updated and when weeks went by that I wasn't contacted about my shower, I reached out for a date. I was then told that my shower had already been updated and when I said, "no, it wasn't so I'm going to need proof or a letter or something", I was given serious attitude by the building management. As of Wednesday, I was told the shower was updated before I bought my condo. Case closed.

Well you know me, things are never case closed until I say so. I went up to the 4th floor to see my friend and neighbor, Sasha's newly updated shower and of course it looked different than mine, so I took pictures and wrote what I thought was my final email to management:

I was over at a friend's unit last night who's shower recently got done and it doesn't look like mine. My shower has no granite on it like their shower does in the attached pictures.
I'm sorry if this issue is an inconvenience to you, but being a homeowner, I just want what is right and fair. If you say the shower was done prior to purchase, I believe you, but I need it in writing from the developer.
To my knowledge, no one has come to my unit to verify my shower was done and my shower definitely doesn't look like the updated shower. I hope you understand that I can't just take people's word for it. I need it in writing.
I'd like a letter from the developer stating my shower was updated prior to when I purchased it. Please let me know when you can provide that.
Thank you

I got a call not an hour later from building management saying they were sorry and that my shower was now scheduled for this coming Monday.
